| Ch. Winstonwil The Chrome Nun, UDX, CGC.Cisco, litter sister to Maggie and Nixie, excelled in obedience and was the ultimate Cardigan to show in breed. She literally showed herself, from the age of about four weeks. We never trained her to :"stack"; she did it on her own. We never trained her to "show" or "gait". She just did it. She is one of those "once in a lifetime" dogs that just know the rules before she was subjected to the show ring. She raised several of her own litters, and helped to raise her grand children and great-grandchildren when their own mothers were reluctant caregivers. She was always "leader of the pack" and showed the rest of the pack how to carry on in her absence. She was strict, fair, and consistent, never waivering in her ideas about how things ought to be. She will be 13 years old July 21, 2002. She is slightly deaf now, and waivers in her proud walk a bit, but she remains "leader of the pack". We can only hope she has taught Penny and Spot the rules of life. We'll miss her when she goes but, until then, we'll love her and care for her as we have for the past 13 years. |
